CHOOSE YOUR UK INTAKE.
UK universities offer different course start dates. September and October are the main entry period for many programmes, while selected courses and universities may offer January or other start dates.
SEPTEMBER / OCTOBER
The main academic-year start for many UK university courses. A wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes begin during this period.
JANUARY INTAKE
Some UK universities offer January starts for selected undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Availability depends on the university and specific course.
OTHER START DATES
A smaller number of programmes may have additional start dates, depending on the institution, course structure and level of study.
Important: Intake availability and application deadlines vary by university, course and applicant circumstances. Always check the current course-specific information before applying. Some universities may offer January or May starts for selected programmes, but these are not available across all UK courses.
UNDERSTAND YOUR UK ENTRY REQUIREMENTS.
Entry requirements vary by university, course and level of study. Understanding your academic qualification, English proficiency and course-specific requirements can help you plan your UK application.
Academic Qualification
Your previous qualification and grades are important when applying to a UK course. Universities may accept equivalent international qualifications depending on their requirements.
English Proficiency
International students may need to demonstrate their English language ability. The required level and accepted tests can vary between universities and individual courses.
Course Requirements
Some courses may have specific subject, grade, portfolio, test or other requirements. Always review the requirements for the exact course you plan to apply for.
Work Experience
Certain postgraduate or professionally focused programmes may consider relevant work experience as part of their requirements. This depends on the individual course.
Supporting Documents
Depending on the course and university, you may need documents such as academic records, English language evidence, references, personal statements or other supporting information.
Additional Requirements
Some programmes may include interviews, admissions tests, portfolios or other course-specific conditions. Check the current requirements before submitting your application.
There is no single entry requirement that applies to every UK university or course. Universities and colleges set their own criteria, so your eligibility should always be checked against the current requirements of your chosen course and institution.
UNDERSTAND YOUR UK STUDY COSTS.
Planning your budget is an important part of studying abroad. Tuition fees, accommodation and everyday living expenses can vary depending on your course, university and location.
Indicative international undergraduate tuition range. Actual fees depend on the university, course and location.
Indicative international postgraduate tuition range. Course fees can vary considerably between universities and subject areas.
LIVING COSTS BY LOCATION
Your monthly living budget can change significantly depending on where you choose to study.
Indicative monthly living budget for an international student, including accommodation, bills, groceries and other everyday expenses.
Indicative monthly living budget outside London. Actual spending depends on the city, accommodation type and individual lifestyle.
BUILD YOUR STUDENT BUDGET
Tuition is only one part of the overall cost. Consider the main expenses you may need to plan for before travelling to the UK.
Tuition and living-cost figures are indicative and can change. Course fees vary by university and programme, while living expenses depend on location, accommodation and personal spending. Always check the current fee information provided by your chosen university before applying.
SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL SUPPORT.
Scholarships can help reduce the cost of studying in the UK. Funding may come from UK universities, government-backed programmes, charities or other organisations, with opportunities varying by nationality, academic profile, course and institution.
University Scholarships
Many UK universities offer scholarships, bursaries or tuition-fee discounts for international students. Eligibility and award values vary by university, course, nationality and academic profile.
GREAT Scholarships
GREAT Scholarships support students from selected countries with postgraduate study at participating UK universities. Awards and eligible universities vary by country and academic year.
Chevening
Chevening is a UK government scholarship programme supporting eligible international students pursuing a one-year taught master's degree in the UK.

Commonwealth Scholarship Commission programmes support eligible candidates from participating Commonwealth countries, including selected master's and other study opportunities.
£10,000 TOWARDS TUITION FEES
For the 2026–27 academic year, GREAT Scholarships available to eligible students from India provide £10,000 towards tuition fees for a range of one-year taught postgraduate courses at participating UK universities.
HOW TO PLAN FOR SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarship applications can have their own eligibility criteria, documents and deadlines. Start researching before your intended intake.
Review nationality, academic, course and other eligibility requirements.
Check university scholarship pages and recognised scholarship providers for opportunities relevant to your profile.
Prepare the academic, personal and supporting documents requested by the scholarship provider.
Scholarship deadlines can differ from university application deadlines, so check each opportunity separately.
Scholarship availability, eligibility, award value and deadlines vary by provider, university, course and academic year. A scholarship should not be assumed to cover all study and living expenses unless the specific award states this.
UNDERSTAND THE UK STUDENT VISA.
If you plan to study in the UK, you will normally need a Student visa for an eligible course. Understanding your CAS, financial evidence, English requirements and application process can help you prepare your visa application correctly.
Confirmation Of Acceptance
You need a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from your licensed student sponsor before applying for your Student visa.
Financial Requirement
You may need to show that you have enough money to pay your course fees and support yourself during your studies, subject to the applicable UKVI rules and exemptions.
English Requirement
Students must meet the applicable English-language requirement. The required level and accepted evidence can depend on the course and study level.
Passport & Documents
Your application normally requires a valid passport or travel document and your CAS, with additional evidence required depending on your circumstances.
TB Test
Applicants coming from certain countries for six months or more may need a tuberculosis test. India is included in the current UKVI TB-testing requirements.
ATAS
Some students studying certain sensitive subjects may need an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) certificate before applying for their visa.
CURRENT FINANCIAL REQUIREMENT
For applications subject to the Student visa financial requirement, students generally need to show funds for their course fees plus living costs. The maintenance amount depends on whether the course is in London or outside London.
